  1. DOUG: Found your travelogue on NAM thanks for posting the link. As fellow travelers my wife and I like nothing better that a good travel blog w/pictures. Have dreamed of hitting Nepal and Tibet but I’m afraid the severe arthritis is dimming those hopes. Tibet maybe now that the Beijing/Lhasa railroad has been completed. Trekking as you have done is definitely past tense for me now. But the wanderlust never goes away. Right now we’re working on a Norwegian fjord trip on a working supply boat up the coast then back to Bergen for the railroad ride to Oslo. Looking for unique things to do and see.

Great pictures, I understand the weather in Nepal can be “changeable” but you’ve captured the place beautifully especially on the small plane up the valley. The Taj Mahal is, of course, stunning, but I found you pictures of Fort Agra more interesting an architectural perspective. I’ve been checking for updates almost every night. You know a hard bound version in the format here (with pictures and in black) is going to be a wonderful keep sake. We spent 2 month in Australia for our 30th wedding anniversary in 2005 mostly on a hotel train. We ended up with 4 photo albums full – my wife really went all out (read: obsessed) I look at them often.

I’ll stay glued here until you complete your trek write ups. Thank you for sharing your picturesque trek in a magic part of the world for westerners – the lands of high mountains, deep green valleys, Shangri-La and over it all Everest. LEE & SANDY
